Innovative childcare service captures locals hearts and minds

(Melbourne, Australia 13th July, 2018)

In order to fill the large gap in the pre-school care and education market for more cost effective and flexible care options, Kindoo! will open a brand new, innovative sessional childcare service on Monday 16th July. And the locals couldn't be happier!

Aimed at families looking to simplify the work/ life/ care and education juggle and supporting women’s workforce participation, Kindoo! will provide quality care and kindergarten education to three to six-year old’s in sessions rather than full days.

Families are now able to pick and choose which sessions best meet their needs and book their permanent, casual or emergency sessions online. Five sessions run each weekday from 7:00am to 11.30pm while a further Evening Care session is also available on Saturday evenings to assist shift workers such as nurses, chefs, emergency workers and the like.

Family life, especially for working mums, is made even simpler with Kindoo’s transport service.  Kindoo! supports families whose children are enrolled at 19 community-based kindergartens local to its Ferntree Gully campus by providing a free pick-up and drop off service for children attending its before and after kindergarten programs. That means parents will now be able to work or study full time, knowing that their child is learning and being cared for in a safe, nurturing, educational environment.

“Never before has the childcare market seen such a flexible offering to parents!” said Martina Dunkel, CEO of Kindoo! “Kindoo! is very cost effective as sessions can be tailored to each family’s individual requirements- you only pay for the session and not the whole day.

"It also meets the demand for high quality, before and after care that community-based kindergartens are just not able to provide. The interest we've seen from families, even before opening our doors, has been fantastic."

With research showing play-based learning enhances children’s academic and developmental outcomes, Kindoo! will also run an in-house kinder program. Kindoo! Kindergarten, run by qualified Early Childhood and Primary Teacher Breeann Schafter, will focus not only on intentional teaching, but also play as learning, digital play, and discipline-specific content such as music, art, science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) and imaginary play.

A strong focus will also be placed on the ‘softer’ skills required for entering school and setting children up for success in the 21st century. In providing children with a variety of academic experiences structured to promote problem-solving abilities, persistence and a passion for continued learning, Kindoo! can help children get the very best start in life.

Also reflecting Kindoo’s commitment to whole-child learning, programs that promote a healthy lifestyle through physical activity and nutrition will be implemented at our state of the art campus.

“We are looking forward to providing our Kindoo! Kids with a rich and engaging learning journey that prepares them for a great future.” said Martina.
